THE BANKSIDE PROMISE: Why "Average Joe" Exists: A New Standard for the Real Angler

Let’s be honest right out of the gate. I didn’t start Average Joe Fishing Tackle to become a millionaire. I’m not looking for a yacht or a corporate office. My goal is much simpler, and probably a lot like yours: I want to spend as much time on the bank as possible. I want to make just enough of a living to pay the bills and head to the river whenever the conditions look right.

"I’m an average guy, a river fisherman at heart, and I’ve realized that what’s missing in fishing today isn’t more 'expensive' gear—it’s more honesty."

A Home for the Community

Fishing can be a lonely sport, but some of my best memories are the "buzz" of getting a mate on the bank and watching them land their first real fish. I want this website to be a digital version of that bankside chat—a true UK fishing community.

I want to hear from you. I want to see the photos of the PBs, sure, but I also want to hear about the "blank" days, the tangles, and the monster that snapped your line and left you shaking. This is a safe space for us all—whether you’re hunting river Pike, sitting in a bivvy for Carp, or casting into the surf.

Why the "Old School" Still Matters

In a world of high-tech sonars and £500 rods, we’ve lost touch with the "old school" methods. At **Average Joe**, I’m a big believer that a hand-tied fly or a well-placed lure from **independent tackle producers** will always out-fish a piece of plastic that moves like a brick. We’re going back to basics:

  • ✓ Empathy over Ego: We’ve all been beginners. I’m here to help, not judge.
  • ✓ Quality over Hype: If I wouldn't use it on my own local river, I won't sell it to you.
  • ✓ Transparency: I’ll tell you what works and, just as importantly, what doesn't.

The Open Invitation

This isn’t just my shop; it’s our community. I want to see your world. Tell me your stories, debunk the myths with me, and let’s get back to what fishing is actually about: the peace, the pursuit, and the people.
